Krupa na Vrbasu

The City Development Agency Banja Luka, in cooperation with the Environmental Centre, launched a Greed Agenda project for Krupa na Vrbasu. The project has been financially supported by the “Programme for Environment in Western Balkans” of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Milieukontakt International.

The Green Agenda is a participative method for the development and implementation of local strategies and plans for sustainable development with active participation of representatives of different local community sectors where the process is taking place. The goal is to improve communication and cooperation among local authorities, business sector, citizens and NGOs through drafting plans for sustainable development for local communities. The Green Agenda is a document included in the Development Strategy of the City of Banja Luka 2007 - 2015, and the implementation of the project is foreseen until the end of 2010.

The project is implemented by forming working groups which will take active part therein until the end of the project. During the work in working groups a list of proposals was made for the inclusion in the preliminary draft of the Regulation Plan of Central Part Krupa na Vrbasu.

Working groups have been formed according to their fields of action:

Working Group for Natural Values,
Working Group for Cultural and Historical Values, and
Working Group for Economy and Sustainable Development

Survey was done among the inhabitants, they also filled out questionnaires and that led to priority projects as follows:

Initiative for the reconstruction of watermills on the Krupa River,
Campaign to launch an initiative to protect the mid-waterway of the Vrbas River,
Project proposals for private initiatives, and
Promotional material of Krupa na Vrbasu

Following the project proposals made on the basis of the work and participation of local population in working groups, as well as the value of projects of interest for the local community as a whole, you are also invited to give your proposals, suggestions and opinion on project proposals and take part in the project.

In the following period the projects that started will be completed, preliminary solutions will be provided for each project, and the proposal for their funding sources will be given.
